A little about the artist…
From his earliest childhood, Claude Viseur was drawn to drawing and loved to doodle in the margins of his notebooks. His favorite subjects were airplanes and cars. It was therefore a natural progression for him to pursue artistic studies.
In 1967, he entered the professional world and began working in feature-length animation at Belvision Studios in Brussels (Asterix with Uderzo and Goscinny, Lucky Luke with Morris, Tintin with Hergé, etc.). It was there that Claude Viseur became Clovis (an abbreviation of his first and last names). A lifelong motorsports enthusiast, he contributed to several Belgian magazines.
In 1974, he met Jean Graton and joined his team, where he became responsible for designing the cars for Michel Vaillant.
He was quickly sought after by numerous sponsors and automotive companies, and in 1982, he had to leave the Vaillant saga and strike out on his own. He then became a true mercenary of automotive illustration, creating numerous advertising comics, both humorous and realistic, as well as drawings for posters, invitations, and other materials. Gradually, he became a key figure in the automotive world.
Since 1998, he has moved away from advertising to better serve the requests of individuals and companies who want to commission a painting on canvas of their favorite car.
In 2004, he published the book Historickx, dedicated to the career of Jacky Ickx, and in 2005, three children’s books were released, recounting the adventures of Nioubi, a charming little car.
He passed away in 2018, leaving behind countless drawings and paintings.
